He just dropped by a for a few minutes and no sign of him since. Perhaps my oranges were too old. I put out a new one right away, but he wasn't around to see.
I think we had an oriole too! Only it was of the female variety. Actually it was somewhat brighter than the female in the book, but it didn't have the black of a male.
How exciting! There are more obscure varieties of orioles that people occasionally see here, though this Baltimore is our most common. I'm hoping for a pair to nest here, though we haven't had one for a year or two.
